Very simply, the direct-to-skin application and the way the soap is formed makes it lather less. We opt to use cleaner, safer ingredients (and avoid foaming but irritating ingredients like SLS that other soaps use). That doesn't mean it's any less effective! If you like a good lather, you can suds it up with a washcloth or loofah.

First thing to try:
If the bottom wheel is spinning and making a soft clicking noise, go ahead and stop turning it. You don't want to wear out the threads. Pop it in your freezer for ~10 min. Then pull it out and wait ~5 min. Try again. If that doesn't work, wait another 5 min then try one more time.

Those are... soap sweats! Yep, soap can sweat. Particularly, soap sweats because an ingredient in them, glycerin, is a humectant and attracts moisture in the air. They are harmless and a natural part of soap. To prevent them, you can make sure that the lid is on tight in between use.

Yes! We recommend sticking with the Unscented Stick Soap, to avoid any reactions to the essential oils in our scented stick soaps.

The soap is glycerin-based, made with NO SLS, which makes it safer to use.

Glycerin is an ingredient found in some gentle cleansers and soaps that acts as a humectant — a substance that preserves moisture. You can see glycerin in action in the “sweat” from our stick soap as it draws moisture from the atmosphere. Glycerin has the same moisturizing effect on your skin.

Although many natural soaps contain glycerin, it’s important to note that these are only a good option when they aren’t heavily fragranced. Our is fragrance-oil free, as we use natural essential oils in our scented options, and we have an Unscented option for sensitive skin.
