REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE

For us, it's so much more than a trendy thing for brands to do.

We feel a heavy weight of responsibility to make sure that as a consumer goods brand, we aren't just creating more waste in a world burdened with overproduction.

We're avid fans of the outdoors, and want to make sure that our brand is here to keep them safe. We want to make a better product for you, but not at the cost of the environment and the planet.

INTENTIONAL INGREDIENTS

SUSTAINABLY SOURCED PALM OIL

The Palm Oil in our soaps is sourced from companies that comply with RSPO.

According to the RSPO's web site: "When grown sustainably, palm oil is a force for good. It helps protect the environment, communities, employees and wildlife. But when it’s grown unsustainably, palm oil production can be destructive and damaging."

OILS SOURCED FROM SUSTAINABLE FARMERS

Our soaps are made with food grade oils (originating from plants) that are farmed by sustainable growers.

SUSTAINABLY SOURCED ACTIVATED CHARCOAL

We use coconut activated charcoal in our soaps because it is considered a sustainable resource as bamboo is a fast-growing grass that can be harvested in as little as three years and requires little water.

SUSTAINABLY SOURCED SUPPLIES

CONTAINERS MADE WITH WHEAT STRAW

Wheat straw is the byproduct or leftover once wheat grain is harvested. The individual fibers of the straw contain “lignin’. Lignin is a naturally occurring ingredient in plants to give them the durability they need to stay upright during growth. Once broken down, lignin can then be combined with other materials to create a moldable substance used for product creation. Thankfully, lignin can be broken down using a naturally occurring, bacterium-based acid without synthetic chemicals.

Our containers are made with recyclable plastic blended with wheat straw to make for a more environmentally friendly bioplastic material.

REUSABLE & RECYCLABLE CONTAINERS

Our containers are made with 32% wheat straw bioplastic, and 63% plastic. Yes, they do still contain recyclable plastic, and we want to make sure we're clear about that. Wheat straw, in itself, is not a strong or safe enough material to use alone, but by adding it into a compound with plastic, it reduces the amount of plastic used by using a zero-waste bio-base with it.

We offer refill inserts to use with your original container, to continue to reduce the amount of plastic made and used with our products. The refill inserts are made with the same bioplastic material, but are made with less of it than the original container (or a replacement container would be).

The original containers and refill inserts are all recyclable, so please make sure to recycle the inserts after use and the entire container once you are done with it.

CAREFULLY SOURCED APPAREL

We didn't trust just anyone to help us with our apparel.

We work with local California businesses that care about sustainability in their own practices.

The inks used are environmentally-safe and even the embroidery thread is made with post-consumer recycled material.

ON THE HUNT FOR EVEN BETTER SOLUTIONS

We are actively working to find an even more eco-friendly solution to our containers. We have a patent-pending container in the works to continue to reduce the plastic, and are actively working with our manufacturing partners to ensure that it's going to not only be an even better solution, but that it's going to be a ground-breaking solution that fits with our values of reducing our footprint while providing a better product.

If you have any ideas for a material that reduces waste and can take regular water contact without growing bacteria, etc., we'd love to hear your ideas! We're deep into our research and testing phase, ourselves, and always open for new input and feedback.
